okay so i have had my PC for about a month now, runs perfect, except when i go to turn it on, the desktop starts powering up but the monitor stays on standby...the monitor and mouse also stay powerless.
I have to turn off the computer from the back power switch than turn back on to fix this problem.
any ideas? thanks.

If the graphics card has multiple connections for example 2 x DVI, try using the other one.

Some ports / monitor configurations have detection issues and you will not get a display through them until you get into windows.

hey
i believe at first i might of have it connected into the standard monitor port, so i connected it to the video card port, but i still get the same problem...and have to switch it off from the back and on again to get it to work, this wont damage the computer will it? and any advice on how to fix this?

Have you tried the second DVI port on your GPU? It could well be that the first port has a dodgy connection to teh PCB. If teh 2nd port works flawlessly then the GPU will need RMA'ing

If mouse remains powerless as well cant see it being monitor connection causing problem, try booting with os disc & if successful do a startup repair.
