Your CPU cooler is woefully underpowered it will not be good enough to keep the 5950X cool, you're going to run into a lot of problems with that

What's this computer for?

Other thing I'd suggest is to remove Bullguard it just causes problems

You also need to add an M2 for your OS it will just make your OS run a lot faster and better

It's not well balanced at all, in fact, it would last about a week before it burnt out.

What's your max budget?

What's it for?

What monitor are you pairing it with, what resolution and refresh rate or make and model if you're unsure?

Going to be used mainly for gaming but also computational chemistry work.
Max budget doesn't really matter too much as student loan is being put to good use.
I've got a dell S2721DGF monitor, 1440p 165hz.

It's a bit all over the place.

So if we aim for £6000 budget? We can do a lot of improvements at around that cost?

That's quite the jump.

If I limit it to about £4000 what could you suggest I do?
Can you provide the configuration link?

I'd be looking at this but I wouldn't buy that processor without the CROSSHAIR HERO VII motherboard, I had to pick the X570-F as an option to post the build but If I was stuck on that motherboard I would go with a 5900X

Godlike
Looking at your monitor choice, the 3070 might be a better pick here. To make full use of the 3080 you really need a 1440p Superwide or 4k 144hz. I’m assuming that the chemistry stuff is CPU intensive as opposed to GPU intensive, if it does benefit from a higher end GPU that would be an argument to keep the 3080 in.
The 3070 is also in much more plentiful supply so should improve your wait time quite substantially, the 3080 queue is likely to stay long for the foreseeable future.

Given that the OP only had a 2TB SATA drive, does the PC really need 2 off 2TB drives?

Should also make the OP aware that if using the student loan, then bear in mind this may not be ready until this years study is over :D

Is the OP looking for something that will be here quickly or prepared to wait for a while?
I've got a computer that works at the minute so I'm happy to wait
