I'd highty recommend going for 1080p 144hz then. Only a very small percentage of the population can see above about 120hz so spending the extra for 240hz is throwing money down the drain for most people. Plus, it'll give you more money to spend on improving the build as 144hz is generally quite a bit cheaper than 240hz. What were you planning on spending on this monitor?

I'm a little confused, have you currently got a 1440p monitor? What's the refresh rate on it?

As an aside- going for a 1080p 144hz would cost about 240 euro's giving you another 100 or so euro's to spend on the build which it would really benefit from

1440p 144hz is a fantastic sweetspot for gaming right now. I wouldn't personally recommend going from 1440p to 1080p for more frames you're unlikely to see. I'd suggest combining the budgets and getting a better PC.
