Hi guys, let me put this question into context, as i've had my PC of 4 months, its on its 3rd RMA and I've called the support team so many times I'm starting to recognise some of them by name
I ordered my PC on the 18th March 2010, and it came two weeks later. I powered it up for the fist time, and it didnt get as far as a POST - no beep with or without RAM, no matter which combination of slots were used. After spending an hour on the phone to the support team, it went for RMA number 1, which turned out indeed to be faulty RAM.
Recieved it the second time, and it failed to boot again. after another long session on the phone to the support team, the new RAM sticks had been put in the wrong slots, which prevented the POST checks. Which makes little sense when it was supposed to have been rigourously tested after the RAM was replaced. After getting it into the correct slot, it booted up, but the whole system would freeze without exception between 5 - 30 minutes of being switched on. after updating chipset drivers, flashing the bios and another monster session with the support team, RMA number 2 was born. Again it turned out to be corrupt RAM.
I recieved it for the 3rd time 4 days ago, and to my delight, it booted up and ran crash free with all drivers and updates installed... Until i tried playing games. It now appears that any 3D graphical processing on the ATI HD 5770 (x2) causes it to crash within 45 minutes (which is the record so far). This can be recreated with benmark software (i use Mark3D Vantage) or any other game. Thus RMA number 3 was created today and will be on its way to you shortly.
So to conclude, with the plethora of technical problems i've had with my PC (order No. 333544), and a fair chunk of the limited time off I have (Due to being in the Royal Navy) being consumed packing and unpacking my PC, my patience is now wearing thin and i would like to know - what is the policy on refunds?
regards,
JR
