What happened to the HD7970 cards?

As the title says. I purchased my rig from PCS a while back and the GPU I picked was the HD7970 3gb. I was looking around on the upgrade section and thought of going with HD7970 crossfire. There was no option to add another 7970. There was 7950's and 7990's but no 7970? I know how to do this myself and fit it an so on, but I was slightly concerned that PCS didn't have this option and would i be wasting my time buying an additional gpu if the guys at PCS don't have this as an option.

Specs are...

FX8350
Sabertooth 990fx
HD7970
H80i
Corsair tx850
8gb Kingston hyper x genisis
windows 8

Can anyone shed some light on this for me? or do any of you have this setup with 7970 crossfire?

I would assume it is because the new R9 280X is a rebranded 7970. It is the same chip - it will work fine in crossfire. Not to mention that for crossfire, the cards don't have to be identical in the first place.
