Well that was weird...

Just had Windows 10 Fall Creator edition do the oddest thing.

Bearing in mind I wasn't touching the keyboard or mouse when this happened but all of my screens suddenly lost their colours and went greyscale.

Even weirder shutting it down and rebooting it or the UAC (updated the Intel driver..more on that in a sec) would generate windows in colour...

Anyway In "Colour & high contrast" in settings, apply colour filter had turned on and greyscale was chosen.

So kind of fixed except since the driver update (get this - the latest version from Intel on their download site is dated 2017 and is version 15.4.x yet the version in Windows 10, also from Intel not MS, is dated 2016 and is version 20.x) I now have red boxes not blue round all my icons (Edit..ah..the Intel driver appears to have selected a red scheme...how very odd).

Anyway thought I'd pop it on here to save someone time if they got the same weirdness.

Second Edit: Seems like Intel only show the latter part of the version on their site. It's now 20.19.15.4703 dated 09/06/2017

How bizarre, I'll try and remember this post when my PC wants to update to the Creators Edition, so thanks for the info.

Admittedly the last time it tried to update to the Creators Edition (maybe in April or May) it did the update and then on first reboot after it had finished everything it restored back to the Anniversary Edition - d'oh!.

Don't upgrade in place. Ever.

Download the latest copy of WIndos 10 va the Media Creation Tool (that will be Fall Creator's) and do a clean install. Experience has shown that some users (including me) need to disconnect from the Internet (by unplugging the Ethernet cable in my case) during the install. Reconnect only when you get to the Windows 10 desktop.
