New laptop spec, currently in pre, didn't realise how impatient I am until now!

Anyone got any advice:
First thing I want to do (after installing antivirus etc) is to benchmark - what is a good benchmarking download?
And what s/w can I use to check out core temperatures?

Laptop now set up (thanks to tech support when it turned out I am too dumb to notice the 'turn on wifi' button).

Core temps range from ~45 at rest to ~75 during PC mark vantage with spikes to 82.

PC mark vantage score 9848 although it accused me of having a generic VGA card with 0 memory rather than a 580m...
