Vortex IV

Well what can i say about my new vortex iv laptop.... its exactly what what i thought i was getting. I read all the reviews looked at all the youtube videos and seen loads of pics before i confirmed my order.
What i didnt expect was how fast i get my hands on my new toy, the order was placed when PC Specialist was closed (bank holiday Monday) and was half way to me in a delivery depot by the friday night.... didnt actually get it till the Monday morning.
The packaging was so impressive that it was overkill. The usual standard stuff in the box drivers etc.... i do like that on your order page you get a list of drivers for win 7 and win 8.. i just hope win 9 is added in due course.
I was also surprised that i could play Crysis 3 on ultra settings and was smooth. m290x, i7 4710MQ, 12 gig ram and a mx100 512gig SSD
The other thing i was concerned about was the temps... but they are not as high as i thought they would be, and for anyone who wants to lower them there are a few hack sites that tell you to lapp the heat sink and tape the fan etc... maybe i will do that in the future when i overclock and the laptop starts to get long in the tooth.
2 things i dont like about the laptop are that the power goes in the back and not the side.. but i knew that before i got it and that the length of cable between the power brick and the laptop is a bit shorter than i would like, so if anyone knows where i can get an male female 4 pin power extension ideally with a right angle end i would be gratefull.
It just shows how good the laptop and the service is, if all i can complain about is the length of the cable from the power brick.

The R9 290x is a rebranded 8970m and the driver will often identify it as an 8970m
