Vortex IV Fingerprint Scanner

I have two questions regarding the fingerprint scanner option on the 15.6" Vortex IV.
Firstly, I notice that it only appears in some of the attached images, and not others. Is it specific customisation option or are the pictures without it of a different model of laptop?
Secondly, what is it used for? Is it only for applications that specifically based around biometric security, or can it, for example, be used in place of a password when logging on?

It's on the vortex iv 15" and 17" but not the le. It can be used in place of password for any app or folder or Web login or windows etc, quite cool.

Awesome. So just to be absolutely clear, it's on every customisation of the 15.6" Vortex IV (http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/notebooks/VortexIV-15/) and not only on some customisations, right?

It's on the vortex IV 17 inch, 15 inch and elite se. It isn't on the LE and it isn't an optional extra on the other chassis as it is fitted on those as standard.

All the vortex range come with the Fingerprint Scanner including the Vortex LE. Although not in the picture for the standard 15" it is in the detailed specification and the description.
