We're considering bringing stock in on the Vortex III Elite (2 x GTX 680M) with a 3D screen (landing December) at roughly £150 more than the current Vortex III Elite price. This will come supplied with an in-built IR receiver and Nvidia 3D Vision glasses.

Would anybody buy this?

Would you also consider 120 Hz none 3D panels?

And if you did how much would it cost to get it fitted to my P170EM lol.

Regards.

It would only come as panel + galsses and in-built IR receiver - we can't supply seperately.

I would be interested in the 3d screen
I was planning to order a Vortex 3 elite in October so may hold if you do produce a 3d screen
When will you know for sure??

Also when do you plan to ship laptops with windows 8 installed??

Windows 8 keyboards are already starting to come through on our current stock. They are pretty much identical to the current keyboards, apart from the Windows key has a different logo. I imagine that by launch most of our stock will have Windows 8 keyboards, but not all stock. The Vortex III Elite will do.

The Vortex III Elite 3D are now on order, stock will be here in December.

Sorry I don't understand, If i order a Vortex III Elite now come December could I get it upgraded if I sent my laptop back to you guys?
Or will it not be a upgrade option?

Hi, another question about the Vortex III Elite. Is there an 600W (2X300W) with power converter box option for the Power Lead & Adaptor in the future?

It will not be an upgrade option. If you order the chassis now you will not be able to upgrade it in December.

You just need to decide if you want a laptop that plays games in 3D with the glasses. Don't forget, you can always connect an external 3D screen to any of our Vortex III laptops and play games in 3D that way...

Thank you, PCS!

I was thinking about the 3D capabilities of a GTX 680M SLI configuration. You know, without the 3D capable screen and Nvidia's 3D Vision 2 glasses, there wasn't much incentive in choosing the 680Ms over HD 7970M, seeing that there are no AMD Enduro issues on the Vortex III Elite. : )

Could we get the specs for the 3D screen, or at least the full name of the model? I'm planning on ordering a SLI configuration sometime around December, maybe even into the New Year. Glad to see a 3D option available!

Unfortunately we don't have the details of the screen to hand at present, as soon as we have some further information we will post back here.

Appreciate the info.

A 3D screen option with Nvidia's 3D Vision 2 puts you guys on the map of a very high end crowd. I assume the same display could be used in the Vortex III (P170EM) shell.

Whilst in theory yes the screen could be added to this chassis, we will not be offering the standard Vortex III chassis with a 3D option. Please also bear in mind that should you install a 3D screen into the standard Vortex III, it will not have a built in IR sensor for the Nvidia glasses, unlike the Vortex III Elite.

The screen is a LG LP173WF2-TPB1 :)

Thank you. I thought as much, since this particular panel is the standard in the industry - the specs are very good.

Can't emphasise the 3D screen option with a 680M SLI configuration enough, since it is a logical extension in a rig like the Vortex III Elite (P370EM).
