vortex 2 Realtek sound problems

Hi all,

I have an issue with my onboard sound card.

Sound works ok, but the ouput really seems to lack bass. Im not expecting anything from the internal speakers, but when using good headphones, the bass is just non existant.

So my problem is that if you go to the hd realtek audio manger in control panel, from what I know, it should have a tab for "sound effects" where you can change sound settings + band equaliser etc

This tab does not exist on my system. I downloaded and installed the latest drivers to check directly from realtek and still no tab.

Anyone know how I can get this tab back or is it a hardware issue?

Thanks

I was very disappointed by the quality of sound from these clevo chassis. You could try downloading the THX studio software, but I didn't find it made a great difference. What headphones are you using? I have some Goldring DR150s, an AIAIAI TMA1 and a pair of Westone 3s.

I've since bought a Fiio E10, an external DAC. It's something I've wanted for a long time, and IMO is worth every penny. The sound is just fantastic.

I have THX installed, does a bit to the sound... but what annoys me is there no option to tweak the sound from realtek directly where as it "seems" other laptops have the "sound effects" tab under the realtek audio manager in control panel.

i am using Sennheiser IE7's - nothing out of this world but there good...

I was just wondering whether there is anything you can do.

is there anyway of having an internal sound card on a laptop that fits in a slot compared to a usb one?

Overall, the vortex 2 has been really good - cant fault it!

thanks

Realtek EQ

haven't got Vortex but on my Optimus 11 to find the realtek equaliser I click on the speaker in the system tray- then click on Device Speakers-click Enhancement Tab- click on equaliser then bottom right next to settings box with three dots in it brings up sliders. The only thing is even with bass sliders up still not much bass using Sennheiser CX500. THX rubbish took it off.
