Visual Development, Presentation and Little Gaming Laptop Speck Check

Now that Windows 8.1 has been released and is in the options for operating systems I am almost ready to order a laptop. My choice is between the Cosmos II with the IPS Panel and the Optimus V with the standard matte with the specs below having only a quote difference of £7.

My dilemmas from making a final choice are as follows:

- I will be using the laptop for web development, photo and video editing, watching movies and a little gaming.
IS THE COLOUR/CONTRAST BETTER ON IPS PANEL OR STANDARD MATTE OR ABOUT THE SAME. DO YOU HAVE THE IPS PANEL OR A STANDARD MATTE AND IF SO YOUR ADVICE IS GREATLY WELCOMED.

- Viewing angles would help during presentations.
THE IPS PANEL ON THE COSMOS II SHOULD BETTER BUT ANY ADVICE FROM STANDARD MATTE OWNERS WOULD BE USEFUL

- Speed for gaming
EVEN THOUGH GAMING USE WILL BE LITTLE, I WILL BE PLAYING 3D GAMES AND ON RESEARCH THE GTX 765M ON THE OPTIMUS V SEEMS TO BE ABOUT 30% FASTER THAN THE GT 750M ON THE COSMOS II, AND 30% COULD MAKE A LOT OF DIFFERENCE FOR RENDERING AN HIGHER RESOLUTION GAMING. HOWEVER ADVICE FROM USERS WITH THESE CARDS WOULD HELP. ALSO IS THERE ANY REFRESH RATE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE IPS PANEL AND STANDARD MATTE THAT MAY AFFECT PERFORMANCE?

-Life of Laptop
I USUALLY KEEP LAPTOPS FOR ABOUT 5 YEARS BEFORE I REPLACE THEM AND EVEN THOUGH THE SPECS BELOW ARE GOOD, SOME OF THE INTERNALS SUCH AS THE GRAPHICS CARD CANNOT BE UPGRADED AND HENCE AGAIN THE OPTIMUS V SEEMS TO BE A BETTER CHOICE.

The specs are below and I appreciate any advice, thank you.

Neither chassis supports 3d gaming on their screens and I don't think you are able to use an external 3d monitor either. I would go with the best gpu you could afford.

Hi keynes,

Some misunderstaning here - I didn't mean 3D gaming screens as you are referring to them but just playing 3D games (like most games now) as opposed to lower GPU and CPU intensive 2D games. I hope that makes sense.

But thank you for replying anyway.
