Hi I am going to be placing an order for the machine below in the next 48 hours and although I know it is made to be more than adequate for my needs
i.e. pure gaming machine I have read on a couple of gaming forums that some people have had problems with the SLI setup with recent games.
Any thoughts/comments would be welcome.

to save some cash, to perhaps improve the CPU, you could - drop to 8GB RAM, and get rid of the wireless card, the integrated will be more than enough

and as far as i know, the SLI should be fine, although i think SLI just usually takes a bit of setting up to get it correct

Hi Wozza do you think the CPU needs improving, looking at the one I have chosen I can only go for the same one with 8Mb or a much more expensive one which doesnt save me anything, appreciate your feedback.

i dont know, was just an idea, do you not have any chance of getting a PC, you could get much more for your money...

Sadly no my personal circumstances are going to change soon and I need to go down the mobile gaming route, my existing desktop has to be sold, although it is not any where near as powerful as the Viper. My initial thought were a Vortex II but I was attracted to the Viper by the SLI for what worked out to about £100 more, just thought it might future proof for a little bit longer.

ok then, its just that everything on a PC is much more powerful for the price and its a lot harder to choose a laptop imo because they are weaker

I do agree with you, when I think what spec rig I could get for that money............... but I think this is probably the best I can get in a gaming laptop for the money.
Thanks for your input it has been helpful even if only to have a discussion with someone who knows what they are talking about.
