Dear PCS

I have recently brought a gaming pc from Very (

PC SpecialistCypher GTi Gaming PC - GeForce GTX 1660, Intel Core i5, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, with 3-Month Xbox Game Pass for PC & Norton 360 for Gamers)

and the hdmi port works fine but the vga port does not seem to work.

I have tried the monitor with a different pc and it works fine.

Windows also does not seem to be able to find the monitor.

Is there something that I need to do to allow the vga port to work?

Thank you in advance

Ozzy

At a guess the VGA port is on the motherboard and the HDMI is on the 1660, and while there's a dedicated graphics card in place the integrated graphics will be disabled, vga is rarely used these days

Thanks for the reply, would it be possible to use the vga?

I just have an old monitor and it would be a waste to throw it away if it works fine.

Given that that machine seems to have an Intel 11th gen i5-11400F CPU in it which does not include integrated graphics that means that VGA port is not connected to anything that can display anything, so you will have to use the ports on the graphics card

You may be able to get a VGA-HDMI convertor for the cable but to be honest not sure what the graphics quality would actually be like., might not be very good.

FYI it claims to have in it:
Blue Tooth: Y
Intel 11th gen i5-11400F CPU - Serious Gaming.
6GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1660 Super - high performance GPU delivering excellent gaming performance

Your hardware might be working well but your drivers are not updated, and it might be causing that issue. Have you also tried updating your drivers since VGA is being rarely used these days? But still, try doing some driver updates. This might help [Edit by a mod: Removed the link, it may have been fine, but removed it anyway]
Answer is above, the VGA isn’t connected to anything so will not work, drivers or not.
