VGA Cooler & Fans

Hi guys,

I recently just bought a pc from PC, I'll soon be posting a review with some pic.

In the meantime I'd like to ask some questions before I do post that.

a) I have two GTX 580's 3GB in SLI. Now I was wondering about installing this in http://www.amazon.co.uk/Akasa-Vorte...17?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1326717560&sr=1-17

b) And also I have a NZXT 2 Sentry Fan Controller that I purchased from a different retailer and I was looking at installing it in my HAF-X. I was also thinking of buying 4 fans like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Akasa-APACHE-Black-Fan-12cm/dp/B003H04XEY/ref=pd_cp_computers_4

Now the questions that I have is would the VGA cooler fit? Or would I have to move too many things around for it to be worth while.

And how would I go about installing the 4 additional fans in HAF-X case. The fan controller will be controlling the 4 fans plus the fan on the side.

Any input or advice appreciated.

Thanks,

Bruno

i wouldnt recommend that cooler as you would need 2 of them to cool both cards and moving your gpu will most likely put your gpu in a pci x8 slot which will decrease performance. if you add the extra fans and make sure you have lots of airflow to both cards that should be enoug, antec spot cools are another option (flexible fans 80 or 100m in size) these you can position off your motherboard fan ports to direct air inside your case.

I'd avoid the aftermarket cooler too, in my opinion the coolers in the 580's are probably better than the akasa one.

Before you buy any extra fans, the haf-x can be fitted with four 200mm megaflow fans, that's really good balanced cooling. Also where would you plan on placing the extra 120mm fans?

Well this is why I was asking where I would be able to place it. Should I just plug the fan controller to the mega flow ones?

I would yea, get ya self another 200mm megaflow fan, then connect them up to the fan controller,

ok so just to recap you have a 230mm fan in the bottom frount of the case a 200mm on the lower side panel these should be both intakes then you would have 2x 200mm in the top as exausts then depending if you have a liquid cooler or not you may have a 140mm fan fitted at the top back end of the case personally id use this as a intake also pumping air onto the motherboard. those are all the case fans fitted in the haf-x.

so thats fitted at the back end blowing air out so if you have the other 3 200mm fans and the 230mm you have all the case fans possible personally i would put those big 4 on your fan controller and if you wanted more air flow id simply buy some antec spot cools and plug them directly into the fan pins on your motherboard.
