NZXT touch screen don't work...

Called up and they can't even tell me what I need to do... I found a white type plastic plug and I'm being asked to send pictures via email... Just ridiculous... £2500 pc not fully working from day 1

Try sending the email and call technical support, they will get it sorted. It is not ideal but occasionally there are problems.

Everyone can have problems, it seems unfortunately that the higher spec machines (and therefore typically more costly) often have more problems than the cheaper (and conversely lower spec) rigs do.

Worst case is that you'll need to send the touch screen fan controller back in for an RMA to be replaced.

I assume the unit lights up and at least appears to be on and its simply you can't alter the settings etc via the touch screen?

No the whole thing is just dead when I turn the pc on.... They are talking to me as if I'm an engineer... I'm not sending anything back they can come to me and sort it out I told them how important this pc was going to be..

If you don't try to co-operate then it will be difficult to find a solution, they won't send someone to sort it out. I understand it is frustrating, I spent a similar amount and experienced some issues as soon as I got but once you give PCS a chance to get it sorted you won't be disappointed.

Ok, is the whole PC dead? Or just the touch screen fan controller? If it is just the fan controller, then its nothing to worry about and should be fairly easy to sort out (it might need replacing).

As Keynes has said, they do not offer on-site assistance, no matter how important you told them the PC was going to be (you won't be the only one who has bought a very important, expensive rig). Try not to get too frustrated, I understand though that you are disappointed. We might be able to help you fault find, in which case you can point them in the direction of this thread if/when you get in touch again.

If its just the fan controller, the first thing I'd suggest is having a look inside to make sure its actually plugged in to the PSU - you should be able to trace a wire from the controller to the PSU and to each of your case fans (your CPU fan will be plugged into your CPU separately).

Unfortunately as with any tech, PC's can go wrong at any point (and it does not matter how important it is to you as to whether this happens or not - though sods law seems to suggest it happens more when its more important) - often with PC's that turn up DOA its because something has got knocked out of place or damaged through transit, as Keynes said they will not send someone out to fix your machine (I suspect they just do not have the manpower to do that at any rate) but they will try and get it sorted out asap, and often the quickest way to get these things fixed it to help the customer to fix it themselves with instructions, thus they were trying to get you to have a look at things yourself, if you do not understand what they are saying, tell them and they will try and explain it less technically for you.

As Keynes said, let them help you so that it can be sorted asap.

Well I'm late for a uni lecture because of this...
The fact that I've actually started unscrewing my whole machine apart really doesn't give me piece of mind.. It's my first custom built pc. It's really not a good start...
I'm only 18... Spending that much money on a pc and having a problem on the first day is the worst thing...

What are you unscrewing? Just the fan controller I'd hope, you shouldn't need to take anything else out of the case. Depending on what case you have you might have had to remove a few screws to get the side panels off?

I would go to uni - this can be sorted after that!

We all sympathise, try contacting technical support and providing more info on this thread to see if someone else can help.

I got an email back regarding the pictures I sent and they said attach the white plug to the power supply... How the hell is that tiny white plug going to reach the power supply... It's just ridiculous... I don't want to stores pulling on things either cause as soon as I put something else out of place there will be some made up crap about no warrenty for that... Having said that I got the premium warrenty option so this better be solved ASAP... I don't want to send anything back either cause then it's gonna be another 2 weeks to get my pc

Well, that is something at least, unless I misunderstand what you're meaning above - You have managed to trace the power cable back and show its plugged in and you can see at least one fan plugged into the controller.

Out of interest, do any of the case fans come on when you turn on the PC?

If you did manage to trace the power cable back, see if you can change the molex connector on the PSU to another one.

The PSU will have longer cables which can reach the white plug - rather than having to stretch the cable with the plug to the PSU - the white plug is most likely a molex connector.

The platinum warranty just extends the standard warranty to 4 years RTB (which means you send the stuff back to PCS and they cover the cost) if your fan controller is bust, you might need to send it back for RMA however if they are correct and you just need to plug it in then its not a big deal. Bare in mind the disconnection likely happened in transit which PCS had no real control over.

If you are not confident or comfortable doing it yourself, you will have to send the PC back to PCS for an RMA.

For anyone wanting to help solve... My case is the corsair carbide 540 air series...

Which white plug are we looking at? the one with two metal pins visible? thats a molex, you should have spare molex connectors coming from the psu, just connect a 'female' to that 'male'? or is that one the one from the psu? confusing pic.

Only one fan comes on... A fan right at the back which looks like the main fan....

I cannot take another picture until 11pm tonight Keynes.. Sorry

However I will check if I have already taken a picture similar to what you are asking for
