Velocity GTX IV or Vanquish HAF V?

Hi, I'm currently in the process of deciding on a new desktop. I'm looking at these two 'next day delivery' machines:

Capture.PNG £905

For an extra 40 quid I appear to be getting an upgraded GTX960 to a GTX970, an improved cpu and an extra 8gb's of ram, (although its DDR3 rather than DDR4)

Seems to me to be well worth the extra 40 quid but I'm wondering is there a reason for that in a performance context.

Is it as much of a no brainer as I think it is to go with the Velocity GTX IV?

Also, for that much money would you consider a different build altogether? The GTX 970 looks like an awesome card both performance and energy efficiency wise.

I'm looking for a desktop that will last me the next 5 or six years and one which will be able to handle graphic intensive games without a fuss for the foreseeable future.

thanks

I don't think it is possible to have a gaming desktop that could last 5 years for graphics intensive games.
For your budget I would go with the gtx 970

Hi, yeah, maybe I'm being a bit optimistic. Feel as though the 970 would comfortably hold itself for a number of years yet though.

For that budget, (£900) would you consider a different machine/build yourself?

For £900 a gtx 970 and an i5 which is what you get with the second option

If you don't need it next day, the Hailstorm GT off the Review section is somewhat better for the same kind of money http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/reviews/ (they're ordered by date, the Hailstorm GT being being 21-09-2015)

It has an overclocked 6600k with a 212 Evo cooler, which is faster than the normal 6600, a GTX 970, a better SSD (HyperX rather than V300) a higher end motherboard, and faster RAM (2666MHz DDR4). Also has a 2TB HDD rather than a 1tb one and a higher capacity and better quality PSU. Price is £899. So you get a lot more for your money for probably only a few days extra wait.

Nice!

Thanks very much. I hadn't spotted that. Will definitely go for that over the Velocity GTX.

cheers
