VBIOS edition?

Hi, I purchased an Octane 1080GPX several years back from PCS, and recently the 1080 burned itself out. Finding a *nearly* identical model for sale, I jumped in hoping it would work. Unfortunately, although physically identical, it was the model 'b', where the laptop had come with the model 'c'. Scrambled screen.
So I tried replacing the VBIOS with a copy from the 'c' 1080GPX. Scrambled screen.
Having tried most of the VBIOS listed for the 1080GTX MXM on Techpowerup, and all result in scrambled screens, am I missing something important?
Should I be aiming for a copy of the 'b' version or 'c' version VBIOS? Will either of them work, considering neither of them worked so far.
Is it something in the BIOS itself that needs changing?

Posting here instead of DMs as perhaps any help may help someone else in a similar situation.

Can you post your full specs from the order page on your PCS account?

You would need the specific GPU for that chassis as different GPUs versions require different power levels which may not align with the power delivery on that chassis.

I personally wouldn’t be spending any money on trying to resurrect such an old system anyway, even if you were to get it working again, it’s not going to even be able to run most modern games due to significantly low VRAM
