Vanquish R4 - 1150 vs 1155 socket?

Hi All,

New to the forum, regular PC Specialist stalker.

I am finally in a good enough financial situation to purchase myself a new shiny PC! Of course I am going with PC Specialist but I have a couple of questions I cant seem to find the answer to.
Any help would be great.

I will be using this PC for mainly hardcore gaming, looking forward to elder scrolls online early next year.

Here is the set-up that has caught my eye, called the Vanquisher R4

Intel Core i5-4670K processor overclocked to 4.2GHz
Corsair Hydro Series H60 cooler
Asus Z87-K motherboard
Kingston HyperX Genesis 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 memory
PowerColor Radeon HD 7950 Boost 3GB graphics card
120GB Kingston HyperX 3K SSD
1TB Seagate Barracuda HDD
Lite-On DVD writer
FSP Raider RA-650 PSU
Fractal Design Define R4 chassis
Windows 8 (64-bit) operating system

My questions are:

1. Would it be worth me investing in an overclocked haswell 1150 socket or would I get more performance out of a similarly priced 1155 socket (overclocked or otherwise)?

2.With a budget of £1200-1400 (including vat!), what tweaks/changes would you make and why? Especially interested in processor and Graphics.

3. Which monitor would you recommend? Ideally 24-26 inch

Any and all feedback is appreciated

Josh

1) I would suggest to stick to the CPU you have chosen. Haswell should offer slightly improve in performance over the ivy bridge equivalent.
2) drop the SSD and upgrade your gpu to the gtx 770.
3) Iiyama monitor.

Thanks for your suggestion Keynes. Might splash out and upgrade to gtx 770 and still keep the SSD, I've heard good things.

Once again thanks :)

Oh and for a anti virus, I was thinking kaspersky? Thoughts?

MSE is a very good antivirus. I use it on my gaming rig. Also the windows 8 Version is called Microsoft Defender and as Vanthus said, comes pre-installed with Windonws 8.
