Using an Australian card for purchasing.

Hi guys, I've just come to England and I'm using my Australian bank account, I need to pay for this computer from my aussie account.

Does anyone know if I will be charged any additional fee's by my bank? I know most people are U.K buying from this site but maybe someone would've come across the same question.

Any more information would be great,

Thanks

Harry

As keynes said I don't think you'll be able to pay using a debit card from a non-UK account, I think you will have to do a bank transfer instead.

I don't think you do need a card registered in the UK, mostly because PCS do ship within Europe. However I'd suggest you get in touch with your Bank to ask, because they will most certainly charge you an exchange rate from Australian Dollars to GBP. Whether they will charge you an additional fee on top of that is up to them I'd guess.

EDIT - On second thought maybe Keynes/Rakk are right and that non-UK buyers need to use a bank transfer to pay for their rigs... I'm not sure.

If it's a problem or the charges are high I would suggest that you find a friend who can buy it on a British card and you give them the funds in return. A friend of mine from the US did this with numerous purchases (not from here) while he was over because of high charges.

Thanks all for your imput, just got off the phone to my bank in Aussie. As I just arrived I have to wait for some documents for 'proof of address' to open a bank account.

So in doing that, I did as patmcg said by putting it into my girlfriends UK account for $20 one off international transfer which isn't too bad at all.

Cheers again.
