You have to decide on the display first. Personally I don't think 4K is a good plan. I'd go with 1440p, as it looks really good, with good pixel density on a 27" display, and is much easier to run, so you'll get more FPS. £2k gets you a top-end 1440p machine, but only a so-so 4K one. So decide on the display first. The options would be 1440p, ultrawide 1440p, or 4K: I personally would go for 1440p, but ultrawide might make sense for you too. And then I'd work out a display budget and then work on the PC.

Moreover, I'd wait for the newly announced graphics cards to be reviewed and released, as that'll change everything in terms of price and performance.

thanks for the reply!, I think your right with 1440p I'm not sure id notice the difference enough to warrant the extra cost. is there anything id have to look out for if I were to use a tv as a secondary monitor just for some casual sofa gaming, refresh rates etc. or does it not make too much of a difference. id have a smaller monitor for main and 27inch sounds fine for me

As in, using the TV occasionally from the PC? It'll be fine, even if 4K, but don't expect top settings or high refresh rate. But if it's just casual gaming, rather than anything competitive, you'll be fine.
