Upgrading RAM - Problem

Hi, Bought my PC from here in april last year.

Had 4gb installed but wanted to upgrade to 8gb. I bought Crucial 2x4gb ballistix. PC3 - 12800 1600hz

I removed the old memory and inserted the new. Tried to boot PC and the DRAM LED light came on, fans spin for a few seconds then it turns itself off.

My motherboard is the P8H67-M LX. Does this motherboard accept 1600hz ram? I went into the bios settings and there is no option to go up to 1600hz, 1333hz is the max.

thanks

I had a quick look on the asus site & it doesn't look like your motherboard supports 1600 Hz,
best check your motherboard user guide to establish what RAM you can use.
I would advise you to get the same typy of RAM as you have, because even if your motherboard can handle 1600hz RAM it wont really improve anything unless overclocking.
Best place to buy would be from PCS, you could then be sure the RAM will be compatible.
