Upgrading PC RAM

Hi all -

I got my brand new PC Specialist desktop 2 years ago this very month during what was the great GPU shortage of the pandemic! Happy to report no issues, however, I'm thinking it might be time to upgrade my RAM from 16gb to 32gb.

Specs below if needed:

l guess what I'm asking here is for advice on what to upgrade to? I have very little knowledge of PC building and relied heavily on this forum to get the above build in the first place!

Should I just order another two 8gb sticks of the same RAM as above? Are they easy to fit myself? I'm sure if I opened the case up I'd be able to find the RAM and where it's located.

Thanks,

Scott

What's making you think you need to up the RAM? What are the uses? 16GB is still perfect just now. If you were buying a new system then 32GB would be recommended to keep it fresh for a few years but there are very few needs for more :)

More RAM doesn't increase performance. RAM is one of those things that's it's either used or it isn't and no in between so you only add more RAM if your current RAM is being maxed out

I'd echo @TonyCarter and say a dedicated M.2 SSD for your games would be a much more worthwhile upgrade. You see a much bigger difference gaming from an SSD than from a HDD
