This was a fantastic workhorse and could keep up with almost anything.
I'm now starting to need to play more modern games on slightly lower settings, and others (Space Engineers with many mods) have trouble keeping up.
So, I am passing this set-up over to my young son for basic gaming and school work. Therefore I need a new computer. I will use it for high-end gaming, website design & development (PHP, HTML coding), photo and video editing (PhotoShop & HitFilm) and general work.
I believe that the processor I selected works better with liquid cooling. However, I know very little about liquid cooling, power supplies, etc. Can someone look over the spec and tell me if I have paired components correctly for optimal performance. I know that the GPU is overkill for the monitors I've selected - but they will be upgraded in the future.
The main intention is that the rig lasts the next 3-5 years, and can keep up with high-end gaming demands.

Firstly, 3 to 5 years would mean a very poorly designed PC, PC's are modular and upgradeable, that's the entire point of them, so with a decent designed system and the odd GPU upgrade you should be looking at a 7 - 10 year lifespan as standard.

What's your max budget including the monitor? It's not much sense to buy a defect monitor just to upgrade it later, depending on the timeline before upgrading it may make more sense to match the GPU for now, and then upgrade the GPU when you upgrade the monitor.

When were you thinking you'd upgrade the monitor? Do you know what your budget would be for this?

When I said 3-5 years - I meant without upgrading any parts. Yes, I will then need to work through different parts after that - but I would like to not need to think about the PC innards for the next 3-5 years.
Max budget for the pc itself is around £2k right now. Monitor budget will probably be about £1k in a year (for dual monitors).
