Most upgrades i'll do, will be GPU's now and then over the course of this build.

Since getting my PC, I've added an additional 1TB CORSAIR MP600 GEN 4 PCIe NVMe (up to 4950MB/R, 4250MB/W) as a game drive,

also recently upgraded my monitor to a LG27GP950 4K 144hz, I've been wanting to upgrade my 2080TI to a 3080Ti, the 3080Ti i'm after is a EVGA FTW3, but i'm still waiting for the prices to come down, if not, i may just wait on the 4000 series,

I know my 750w RMx PSU will not cut it for a 3080Ti or any future cards, So today i upgraded my PSU to a Corsair 1000w RMx to be ready for a GPU upgrade, but i don't know if there's a problem the new PSU, it's making a strange noise when loading/ playing games, it's like a buzzing/clicking/ticking/crackling type of sound, it's fine when just on the desktop, PC is quiet, just slight fan noise from case fans but when i load up a game any game, the PSU starts buzzing away and only stops when i quit a game and go back to desktop,

I found a video on Youtube of how it sounds and mine sounds exactly the same...

I don't know if PSU's need some "run in time" being new and that the noise will go away over time? or if this is a problem and it could blow up?,
I've tried plugin into different power sockets and made sure all the PSU cables are connected and secured right and no change.

My corsair 850w RM from old 2014 PCS PC has been nice and quiet and never had this issue,
My corsair 750w RMx from this 2019 PCS PC has been nice and quiet and never had this issue,
My new corsair 1000w RMx just doesn't sound right when loading /playing games.

It's called coil whine and happens sometimes on a new PSU, usually it goes away after a couple of days. It's some of the caps "leaking" air when they get hot, it's not an inherent sign of a problem, although it can be, but it's generally unacceptable and I wouldn't put up with it if it doesn't disappear quite quickly.

If it continues past that, depending on where you bought it, they may accept a return / replacement within the normal 14 day period.

I've just ordered a RTX 3080Ti EVGA FTW3 Ultra Gaming at Scan, they just got some in stock at a decent price of £1399, the only other place that had them in stock was at Overclockers but at a price of £1700 or on Ebay at £2000+ had to order asap from Scan, I should have it delivered some time tomorrow,

Now that I've ordered my 3080Ti, i don't see another GPU upgrade until at least the RTX 5000 series.

to get that card at all is impressive, they're like hotcakes, but to get them at that price also, thats a real win! Congrats!

Strange suggestion I know but could you.try limiting your frame rate to that of your monitor then listen to the noise and see if it its the same sound

Would that be a settings in the Nvidia Control panel? the Max frame rate option?

also been out all day and just go back home turned on the PC and the PSU is buzzing away as soon as i turn on my PC and still is, and I'm only on the desktop at the moment

Right-click anywhere on the Desktop where there are no icons.
Select Display Settings.
Scroll to the bottom of the window.
Click on Advanced Display Settings.
Find the Refresh Rate (Hz) line, this will show the monitor Refresh Rate.

Another thing to check to reduce the noise is see if your power settings are set to high performance and set it to balanced to see if that would reduce the whine

Assuming you're using freesync or gsync if the screen supports it, the FPS would be matched to that of the screen anyway, so it wouldn't go over the screen refresh.

Yeah its already set to your monitors refresh rate just wanted to check as a capped refresh rate can sometimes reduce coil whine and ease the annoyance for you I have had coil whine and can attest to how annoying it is !!!

It's not a very nice noise, it's the first time I've ever heard this, it some what sounds like it's trying to short it self out and will go pop or bang at some point.

If it's that bad, just return it and get a replacement.
Yeah your settings are all fine I agree with spyder I would sent it back amazon returns are great ! I waited a week no change so I returned mine new one was fine

I'll give it a couple of days first to see if it settles down, if not, i'll return it, it's has less then 10 hours of use so far since i installed it.
