Upgrade ordering system isn't workling properly.

I'm not actually wanting to upgrade (yet), i just wanted to see what the best graphics card is i can have in the existing system by using the upgrade ordeeing system to see which cards flag for PSU etc and i came across a bit of bad design iin the system.

It's an upgrade system, so you're only ordering the extra items you have added, so why when i click the proceed button do i get the following message which stops me from continuing?

I don't care if the case that i already have is out of stock, i'm not requeting one, why does the system stop you ordering upgrades if an item you already have in the original build is out of stock? All i can say is that must lose you a hell of a lot of upgrade customers.

If you send them an email detailing the problem, then they will be able to look into it and hopefully fix it, they may not see this thread, so email is the best way to go

That obviously shouldn't happen and needs fixing. But can you choose to upgrade the case? If so does picking a new case allow you to proceed? I only mention as the Elite 311 is quite a basic case and you may want to beef it up a bit anyway if you're adding some fruity hardware to your system? I don't know what gpu you're going for but will it fit the 311?

No, you can't choose another case, at least not on my upgrade page. I actually don't have that case, i have the InWIn 1 gaming case, i updated my order before it was built, but for soem reason on the upgrade page it thinks i have the Elite.

I don't believe you can upgrade cases through the upgrade system (or motherboards) because it would involve an entire take apart and rebuild (afaik)

I had this a while ago. Once they stopped stocking the Sniper, the upgrade system couldnt work out if the components I asked for would fit.

I swear they fixed that bit, but this does sound slightly different, so may just need a tweak.

It's ok i wasn't actually going ahead with the upgrade i was just using the system to see what maximum i could upgrade on the graphics for future reference (i will upgrade but not until xmas time ), i just thought it was odd that it worked that way.
