We love you Ukraine
So for those that haven't heard, Microsoft have been chasing Windows on Arm for a good decade now, likely over that. Since the early Surface Pro's, Microsoft has known that it needs to get off X86 for efficiency in the mobile (laptop and tablet) market.
They have tried Windows on Arm a few times in the last decade, but CPU's just haven't been up to par and they could never optimise windows enough to make it a real competitive option.
Now Qualcomm, who have been huge in the mobile market since mid 2000's, are about to rollout their new Snapdragon X Arm SoC’s (systems on chip), and these things are looking pretty damn impressive, on par with Apple Silicon M3 (by Snapdragons own performance data). Embargo's lift next week so do keep an eye out when 3rd party reviews hit.
But battery life on laptops, you're looking around 25 Hours! I would absolutely LOVE to see these hit the custom market, and have every expectation they will, although perhaps not for a few years.
