I have a number of Ultranote IV machines I look after for a small school. They are great laptops
However, we now have a second laptop where the power connection *on the laptop* is somehow failed. This can be remedied by firmly holding the power lead in, or even holding it in place with an elastic band, but is not exactly a workable solution.
The laptops are well looked after, but whilst I'd be willing to accept one could have been accidental damage/ mistreatment, two seems like a design flaw. The second laptop is four weeks out of warranty which is doubly frustrating.
Has anyone else seen this and have a resolution? I am guessing repair would probably be a whole new motherboard which does not sound idea, particularly if it fails again just after a year.
