Ubuntu problem

I know we are not supposed to talk about competitor machines on here but hope this is an OK exception as we may have users with PCS and Lenova. This report has been put out (https://distrowatch.com/dwres.php?resource=showheadline&story=4943) it seems there is a major problem with Ubuntu 17.10 and it is damaging the BIOS on Lenovo machines.

I'm sure it's an OK exception, it's good of you to warn folks. I wonder what it is with Lenovos that causes this problem??
