Yeah of course it's like saving a file on a usb device when the installer asks you where you want your game to be installed, you just have to select Computer -> your 750gb HDD -> a directory where you want all your games to be installed. You'll have to be careful to do that every time you want to install smthing on your 2nd drive though, cuz it will install new programs by default in your C:\ Program Files directory, which will be on your SSD.

The vast majority of applications will give you the option where to install,if you add a second hard drive just create a folder on it "programs" for example then browse to that location when installing anything,or simply delete the C on "location"when installing and type in the drive letter of your second drive, this will create the necessary folder the first time you do it.

Yeah generally by default most software would be installed to where your Windows is, which is your primary hard drive. Depending on the size of your SSD, you may want to narrow down the games and programs you use the most and make sure you install them to your SSD drive to take full advantage of it's speed, and the rest can go to your 750 GB hard drive. Basically, your SSD will be the drive for your programs, and your 750GB drive will be for your storage files (music, videos, documents).

As a tip as well, in case your SSD is not a large capacity and would wind up having to install more programs on your secondary hard drive, it's always a good idea to make partitions.

*To more knowledgeable computer people -- I assume this is still a valid suggestion? I've been doing this for as long as I can remember, but also am no expert at computers.. I just don't know if things have changed, and don't want to be giving stupid advice.

Take your computer that you're using now. It has just 1 hard drive, so by default, that drive is labelled C:
I would create a partition, to make it so your drive has 2 separate spaces, so you have C: and D:. 1 solely for your games/programs and OS, and the other partition for all your other files, like music, documents, etc. The reason for this is so if ever you need to reformat or reinstall Windows for any reason, only your C: drive would be affected, so all you have to do is reinstall your programs and games, as opposed to transferring all your data from whatever back up you have back onto your hard drive, after reinstalling everything again. I find that it gives a lot more peace of mind as well that if ever anything ever happened to Windows, I know my files are safe.

I've been trying to get my girlfriend to do this, but I guess it's a tough habit to break because my suggestion to keep files separate makes the "My Documents" folders useless so to speak. It also means more organizing for you, but it's been more than worth it.

I hope that was helpful, and that it made sense.

Also if you already knew that, then, oh well.:stuart:

thank you for your replys it has gave me a better understanding, i will have a 120gb ssd which will have windows on and then i plan to save maybe 3 games i play most on. which i guess when i go to install i would just select the ssd drive to install too when it gives me the option ? . and i have a 750 gb other hdd wich i plan to basically put everything else on that i download install things like that , so i take it when i install something i want to put on that drive i would be given an option where i want it to install as i have two options instead of just one ? if thats correct then i now understand:) . one more question or maybe two if possible . at moment with my old pc if i install a game and have desktop shortcut that i double click, now if i install games on ssd i would expect that to work the same way with the shortcuts on desktop if thats correct ? . Now if i install a game on the 750 gb drive, would the shortcut go on my desktop and i can click it and play or do i have to open the other hdd and then the shortcut would be inside that folder, and if thats the case would i have a shortcut on my desktop to open the 750gb drive or do i need to create one if that is possible?. hope you understand what im saying and sorry for being a bit of a pc noob , and one more thing when i get pc will i have instructions how to do back ups for a restore or would i have to phone pcs tech for there help. thank you very much

most installers don't give one or two options, they usually have a browse button where you can choose what folder/drive to install to. You can just make a programs folder on your 2nd hdd and browse to that on the installer.
