TruStudio Pro on new laptop not working

Hi all, firstly, I got a new laptop (15.6" Optimus II) and it is pure awesome. Everything is working as expected and I'm extremely happy with it as a desktop replacement.

Only one thing is confusing me though, it has a "THX TruStudio Pro" sticker on the inside of the case (above the HDMI sticker just below the keyboard).

I've installed the application from the driver CD that came with the laptop but it doesnt work so I'm just wondering why the sticker was applied? I didn't specify any extra audio components in the build so it should be using whatever standard audio the laptop comes with.

Thanks :D

I've got the same sticker alongside the HDMI sticker (as opposed to above it) on my laptop too (Vortex II). I have the bogstandard Intel HD Audio that you have so thought it was in error, but turns out it's a piece of software designed to improve audio and doesn't require the likes of X-Fi (spotted the software on the creative labs website).

Thats fine, but when I load the software it comes up saying that there is no compatible hardware detected... how did you get it to work and is it even worth worrying about?

Iv'e been trawling through the old threads and came upon this - exactly the same question that I am asking today 11 November - can anybody shed light on this!

After trawling the internet with no avail, finally found out myself that you have to load Realtek audio first then it works. Pity PCS doesn't make this more clear!

Are you able to make it a bit clearer about the loading Realtek audio? Is that on the disc? I've got this sound issue as well. As my fingerprint scanner and card reader just worked straight out of the box I thought all drivers would've been installed for me. I wasn't even aware I got a driver disc - will have to go searching in the box now.

Sorry for delay not been looking on forums recently. If my memory serves me Realtek is on the discs that come - it's only software. Does have some useful things with it like eq. However, don't bother with Trustudio as on the Optimus it's useless because of the frugal speaker set-up on the laptop. I took it off. Hope that helps

Completely solved this problem. Cheers for the heads up on the Realtek driver Ticktock. I didn't go into the main drivers section of the drivers disc. I had already been to the realtek website and downloaded appropriate sound drivers from there. I installed these which enabled THX StudioPro to activate properly. It also solved my volume problem, everything was very very quiet, with the realtek drivers and THX working, volume is as one would expect from a laptop. 5.1 control is now also working both on the speakers and through the optic jack on headphones.

Basically install realtek drivers and everything now sounds lovely.
