Trouble booting to BIOS

I have a ASUS® ROG MAXIMUS Z690 HERO WIFI (LGA1700, USB 3.2, PCIe 5.0) motherboard and when booting it asks for F2 or Delete to be pressed to boot to the BIOS. So I have tried both in any number of different combinations ... pressing each while the computer is booting, holding down each while it is booting, pressing each once while it is booting, beating the keyboard while it is booting!!!! And still no BIOS! It is driving me mad. I've got a PC Specialist laptop and I have the same problem with that!

Any ideas?

Thanks

Is this a PCSpecialist system? Can you post your full specs from the order page?

Hi

Yes, it is PC Specialist PC but I have resolved the problem, I'll explain for anyone else who has the same 'issue'.

It occured to me that I am using a Bluetooth connected keyboard and then I was thinking, how is the PC going to recognise the keyboard before it's booted up? I plugged in my old USB keyboard and WHAM! Straight in pressing the delete key. (y)

Ah yes, similar problems were had on Macs when Apple introduced all their 'magic' keyboards to the range...and forgot to ensure the bluetooth stack was enabled at boot...so you always had to have a wired keyboard to hand to troubleshoot (or maybe it was a cynical ploy to ensure you bought 2 keyboards).

You can also access the BIOS through windows since windows 10.

Just navigate to Settings / System / Recovery and select "Restart Now" from advanced startup.

Then select the options to enter UEFI
