I am getting regular BSOD crashes when playing games. When using the laptop for standard, non-GPU tasks such as web browsing, virtualisation, MS Office etc. the laptop is fine. But within 20 mins or so of playing games, I'm getting crashes.

I see there is a thread for Windows 8 issues, is it likely the resolution is the same?

Thanks

What version of windows 10 are you on? Open the start menu and type winver, then run that command.

Also, what version of nvidia driver are you on?

That BSOD error is almost always a driver issue and since the BSODs happen when you're using the GPU the graphics driver would be the first one you should look at.

From my own experience of troubleshooting the error (and the indication from the BSOD that the offending driver is SynTP.sys - the Synaptics Touchpad) I would start with reinstalling the latest driver from Synaptics rather than GPU. Appreciate these things are not always clear cut however, so not to say that the GPU driver cant be at fault, just passing on how I fixed it on my Defiance III.

The link posted above has contributions from many other users with the same issue. I don't believe anyone found the GPU driver to be at fault but you never know!
