Came back from Ireland last week, and on the way back home, something got caught around my feet. While sorting that out, the bag which contained my Vortex IV fell full weight to the ground. At the time was too tired to care. This evening though, I opened the bag, found a missing bit, a dvd drive which doesn't close cleanly, and an exposed (and pulled) screen hinge. Far as I can see the innards (wifi/RAM/CPU/SSD/etc still work but now have a bit which needs to attach onto the top of the heatsink grid - next to the hinge) and stop a little bit from springing out.
I don't see any mention of doing this but if all the innards from this machine (bought just under a year ago) work, is it possible for a rebuild by PCS as all the components work? Or would getting a new machine outright, and sending compatible bits to PCS ( such as upgraded wifi, SSD, RAM)?
I don't mean PCS should do the repair or ship it for free. I'm willing to pay for those who 'should' be familiar with the hardware and do it faster and better than what I can. My experience with hardware stops at towers and mini boxes. In my years, my fingers simply are just not nimble enough to safely do laptop hardware repairs.
