Any ideas as to why the USB ports on the front of my case arent firing?

You've got the Asus Rampage motherboard so it's not possible to connect all of the front USB ports, you'll need a USB splitter like this one: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/nzxt-iu01-int-usb-expansion-6xusb-int-and-2xusb-ext to get them all working.
