Just want to send my thanks to pc specialists for going the extra mile :
As many of you, may or may not have been following, the problems and out cry over getting a 7970m working in the Vortex 2 / Clevo p150hm / 170hm series, i am really pleased to have the option to upgrade to this new card.
One of the reason's i was sold on clevo was the "Upgradability" of the cards for at least a while (MXM 3.0?) and was really annoyed and disappointed when sager/clevo stated they had no intention of supporting the new card on the Vortex 2 series : with mine only 7 months old, and a lot others similar, it wwas great to see the response of sager/clevo owners (and pcspecialist customers) on this forum and notebook review, campaign for this support.
Pc specialist could of easily have just said "sorry, it cant be done" and left it at that, but they have obviously put some time and effort in to supporting its customers, by offering the upgrade. At only £240 its obvious its not about making a quick buck either, and i am sure all the upgrades that will now happen will take alot of time up, and not for great financial gain for pcspecialist.
I don't exagerate when i say, this has made me 100% sure that my next desktop or laptop purchase will be from pcspecialist (or all in one), and a clevo (though i hope they take away the passion of current clevo owners, and who they should be considered etc) as opposed to a more expensive alienware etc
I know there are still issues with other models in the HM series, other than the 150, but i have no doubt , if it can be done, that pcspecialist will offer an upgrade, at a really reasonable price, so fret not fellow vortex owners.
