Thinking about this PC...

Mostly for video editing and photographic software like Photoshop etc. I wanted something with lots of memory and enough processing power to be able to deal with Photoshop and more.
So, this might be over the top for what I need, but I want the best I can afford at the moment, that will not need upgrading for some time... or maybe never if it copes really well with the software mentioned above.

Not bought it yet... any comments or suggestions?

What is your budget?

You have picked a cheap case, which is not a good idea. The case is critical to keeping things cool, which stops the PC being thermally throttled and extends its life. I think you would be better off with 32Gb of faster RAM (3200 or 3600 MHz - 2 x16 GB). You could do with a better M.2 SSD. The one you have picked seems very slow. You could do with a 750W or 850 W RMx PSU to allow future upgrades. For that monitor you may need a better GPU. The AX200 is a better WiFi card. You are unlikely to see any benefits from Windows Pro.

Please include the unique URL for the build, so that the experts can adjust it to make it more balanced for your needs and budget.

The budget is below £2000

I don't know very much about the inner workings of a PC or speed limits and benefits of ram. I thought though, that 64GB would be better than 32GB!?

I just want a fast processor and enough memory available to run video processing software without the PC freezing because of a lack of memory... like the one I have now does!?

As for the casing. I don't really need something with flashing headlights, just a plain case would be fine. The inside is more important.

Some people, like myself, would argue that the case is more important than the CPU, GPU and everything else....without a good case, then the airflow may be poor which would lead to overheating and, potentially, loss of performance through thermal throttling.
I have never really thought about it that way. I thought that was why fans were fitted? Thank you!

Cheap cases invariably have cheapest fans available at that price point.

The internal airflow may not be that good, coupled with cheap fans that are more likely to fail or be noisy.

admittedly I have a track record in getting slightly more pricey cases lol.
Just been looking at the Corsair, Obsidian 500D SE (with ML120 Pro RGB Rear fan) case. I have to admit it does look very impressive!

Not in anywhere trying to influence you...

Well, the fans provide the airflow for sure but, if the case has not been designed very well or with cooling in mind, the fans can quite often just move air around rather than do anything constructive. On a basic level, the difference between cases designed with airflow in mind and those that weren't is much like comparing a Ford Fiesta with a Formula 1 car....one is a box with no thought to cooling, the other is all about airflow

As to case choice, if you can afford the extra, then the 500D SE is excellent, both in terms of cooling but also in terms of how good it looks
Thank you. This forum has certainly changed the way I look at computers, especially the cases!
