Think PSU is dead

Hi
I think my PSU is dead. No power is getting to the computer. I've changed power leads but no joy.
All was fine last night.
Now here's my other problem, I paid for the silver warranty (1 year) when does the start of that year begin? ie day order processed, day sent out etc?

Unfortunately the link to their Warranty page is dead (https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/pc-help/30/ - taken from the main FAQ page here - https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/faqs/ ) but I believe the warranty commences from the day you take delivery. Best bet is to phone PCS as you will get a faster answer

I'm certainly no lawyer but I would expect the warranty to start the day you take delivery, but as Tony1044 says, a call to PCS will confirm that.

I assume you've tried plugging another device into the mains socket to check that power is there? Have you also checked the fuses in the plugs you're using? Obvious stuff I know but you'd be amazed how often it's the simplest things.....

Thanks for the replies, I had indeed tried all suggestions.
I will ring them tomorrow regarding the warranty but its definitely the PSU.
I asked my son to bring round the old computer I gave him (PCP also) to swap out the PSU and everything works fine again.
I have doubts that the PSU Fan ever worked as upon inspection there was not one spec of dust on the blades or inside the PSU.
Never had a problem before and never noticed the fan noise as the PSU is supposed to be silent.
Anyway will try and get a replacement sorted tomorrow.

Some PSU's have fans that don't run anyway. The RM series for example have a fan that only comes on when needed. So far, my fan has never come on and that is normal. Hope you get it sorted when speaking to PCS. BTW, corsair have warranties on heir PSU's ranging from 3-10 years depending on the model.

Just phoned them and the guy who dealt with me was great.
I was only on the phone for about 5 minutes and he's sending a new one out on Monday.
Very pleased.

That sounds good :) As good as things can get with an apparent PSU death anyway.

Keep us posted with how it goes when you install the replacement.
