Ok so i would like to up the Gfx from the GTX 560 to the 580 but pushes my budget up too high.

Is there anything i could do to get myself the GTX 580 and keep it around this price (£1650)

i would appreciate any help.

If you want the 580M you will have to sacrifice a lot to drop the price the below spec is about the nearest and the only thing left to cut is the soundcard to bring it nearer to your budget.

As i did in the build above you want to drop the killer card they are not worth it you would be better keeping the soundcard than the killer card if you keep either in the spec.

This is for when i go to work in Oz so a desktop is out of the question. Need some thing i can travel with.
I do have a gaming rig in the house that i got from PCS last year and has served me well for that time.

Hey Toka, congrats on ordering up your rig. I'm in a similar situation to you... I intend to buy a Vortex II 15" rather than a desktop PC because I travel with work every week and live in hotels. In fact, I notice you are from Edinburgh! That's where I stay every week... Usually in The Holiday Inn out at the zoo.

So.. I need to get my spec established and then finalise an order. Haven't decided yet whether to go the 6990 or the GTX 580M yet. Looks like they are approximately the same performance wise (according to what Ive read). Going 6990 would let me increase the spec elsewhere, like HD and RAM speed etc.

Hmmm decisions decisions... You will need to keep this thread updated once you receive your rig and give us some feedback regarding performance etc.
