The waiting game

Hi all, just trying to pass some time while my laptop sits at pre-production for the 3rd day wondering when it will pass to the next stage.
So what exactly is pre-production (only a brief explanation on status page) and what can hold a computer at this stage for days?
Is this the most anoying stage? not knowing what is happening as with the other stages you know that your computer is being worked on.

Cant wait for it to pass through to dispatch and delivery and hope the wait is worth it, usually buy off the shelf as dont like waiting so this is the 1st time i have ever had to wait for a computer.

Cheers all

I think I was pre-production for about a week. But then I did have to wait for a case to come in.
It was 11 workings in total and I am literally about to have mine delivered.

Arrrggggghh. The suspense is bloody killing me. At least I have a spankingly clean home now.

Pre-production is where PCS gather all your components for your build together, they then put it in a queue to be built. The reason why Pre-Production is so long, is because PCS have to find all your items, if they don't have them, they need to wait for them to come into stock, hence why it can take a while. Also, depending on how busy PCS are, the longer the queue is, so it will take longer for your PC to go into the next stage, building :)

Mine was in Pre-Production for about 6 days :)

It is the longest time period, and as Corfate says, its basically in the queue to be built, stuff is gathered, anything is ordered in that isnt in stock etc etc.

At least I have a spankingly clean home now.

Officially the only person to come up with a sensible way to pass the time! :D
