My new machine is due tomorrow and BOY am I excited

Just got the confirmation that my rig is in Leeds and heading it's way south - woo hoo.
Got to tip my hat to the guys at PCS as in just four days (not including the longest weekend of my life) my rig is on it's way. Four days was amazing, even though I had ummed and aaaared over the specs and ordered, changed, then re-ordered - sure you guys know that one, lol.

I have been into computers forever but like a lot of people, had never owned my own quality PC. Having recently left a small production Company in Chiswick, London I am forging ahead to go solo - taking on small projects, you know starting from scratch. The machine of choice for most studios is the MAC. Great machines if you have a budget of 1,000's of quids which of course I haven't + I really wanna get back into a bit of gaming and all that type of thing.

With some trepidation I started looking at various builds offered by a number of websites and spent a couple of days ummming and aaaaring (yea i do that a lot). By lucky chance I came across PCS and suddenly everything became clear. SO impressed with every aspect of the PCS experience. Built a spec, posted onto forums and instantly got real people offering me really good advice, which of course I followed, well mostly.

My decisions came quick and fast and my primary needs and requirements are for a PC that I can run photoshop, illustrator and flash animation. Easily handle at least two hefty monitors and boot-up quick - hate slow boots.

Case
Did not require a flashy looking case as it will live under my desk though having looked around a bit I kinda wish I had sticked with the coolermaster haf, but to be honest I had a budget and so decided to pack it with hardware instead. Saying that the
STYLISH BLACK/SILVER TRIDENT CASE + 2 FRONT USB will suit me juuuust fine.

CPU
Had to be the new 4th gen Hali and because of the hyper-threading capabilities and superb energy saving features-> enter i7 (k) well you never know

Mem
Decided that I would kick off with 16GB 2X8 kit - video editing can really devour the RAM - with 2X8 I can easily jump up to 32 without any waste.
16GB KINGSTON HYPERX BEAST DUAL-DDR3 2400MHz X.M.P (2 x 8GB KIT) - Originally went for the 1600 but PCS were temporarily out of stock so couldn't wait and went for the 2400mhz which was hardly any more than the 1600mhz - :stuart:

GPU
2GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 660 Ti - 2 DVI, HDMI, DP - 3D Vision Ready
OK this was the sticky bit and I know that everyones gonna say shoulda gone for a 780. Truth is just couldn't afford to spec up - but will be buying a second 660ti so that should be fine. My main reason for this purchase is as a productivity box with a bit of gaming - sooo - wadya gonna do.

Motherboard
ASUS® Z87-A: ATX, USB2.0, USB3.0, SATA6GB/S, SLi, XFIRE
Looks good has SLI and it's ASUS

HDD's
Never had an SSD so had to have one of those - can't wait for boot-ups though will miss the cup of coffee that I currently make while waiting
1TB WD CAVIAR BLACK WD1002FAEX, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64MB CACHE (7200rpm) thanks RAKK for the HDD advice.

power and cooling
650W FSP RAIDER SERIES RA-650 80 PLUS® BRONZE
Super Quiet 22dBA Triple Copper Heatpipe Intel CPU Cooler (£19)
Should be nice and quiet and with the energy efficient i7 hal - when I SLi another GPU the 650w will be just fine.

Sorry guys this has gone on a bit longer than I had planned so am wrapping up

It's 19:18 right now and just like being a kid on Xmas eve - I wanna goto bed and then it will be the day my PC arrives..

Thanks for your stirling help yous guys - Unusually I really cannot find fault, lol

I didn't mean to say it is not compatible, the case doesn't offer very good cooling and it is advertised for general use and video editing. If you are planning to run 2 GPUs I think you may get high temps, I may be wrong but that's the impression I got from the features provided.
