So, CES kicks off on Monday

Linking to the livestreams for the big events should you want to watch them

AMD - 11:00 Pacific Time / 17:00 UK Time

Will be announcing new GPU's only up to the RX9070 XT, perhaps the 9950X3D CPU, likely new laptops, release expected before March, but not many concrete leaks from AMD. We're expecting these new cards to have hardware accelerated AI cores like on nvidia's, and will introduce FSR4 which will use AI acceleration for upscaling and frame generation. This could be interesting as brings them far closer to NVidia's hardware level for this technology.

NVidia - 18:30 Pacific Time / 02:30 Tuesday Morning in UK

Will be announcing new 5000 series GPUs down to the 5070, expected release date of the 5080 is 21st January. These cards will introduce DLSS4, this is likely to be limited at a driver level to the 5000 series for certainly a period as they did with DLSS3 on the 4000 series, remains to be seen if this is due to a hardware requirement, or if they may open it up later like they did with some aspects of DLSS3

Dell going to be a launch partner of the new AMD AI Pro CPUs (wonder if this is due to the Intel backlash?).

Bear in mind, I believe the hype of "4090 performance in the 5070" likely equates to AI TOPS, not gaming performance. As with all things, any marketing is irrelevant, always wait for 3rd party reviews.

Availability
For desktop users, the GeForce RTX 5090 GPU with 3,352 AI TOPS and the GeForce RTX 5080 GPU with 1,801 AI TOPS will be available on Jan. 30 at $1,999 and $999, respectively.

The GeForce RTX 5070 Ti GPU with 1,406 AI TOPS and GeForce RTX 5070 GPU with 988 AI TOPS will be available starting in February at $749 and $549, respectively.

The NVIDIA Founders Editions of the GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 GPUs will be available directly from nvidia.com and select retailers worldwide.

Stock-clocked and factory-overclocked models will be available from top add-in card providers such as ASUS, Colorful, Gainward, GALAX, GIGABYTE, INNO3D, KFA2, MSI, Palit, PNY and ZOTAC, and in desktops from system builders including Falcon Northwest, Infiniarc, MAINGEAR, Mifcom, ORIGIN PC, PC Specialist and Scan Computers.

Laptops with GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPUs will be available starting in March, and RTX 5070 Laptop GPUs will be available starting in April from the world’s top manufacturers.

I think it is to do with gaming performance but I think they (NVidia) are being a bit disingenuous. The implication in the presentation was raw performance but YouTube videos I've seen suggest it's with the help of DLSS 4. Not a bad thing in itself (it's actually rather good) but marketing rarely ever gives an accurate description of what's really going on.

I wish I could afford that 5090 though 🤑

That’s AI performance, DLSS is artifial frames generated by AI

So while it boosts frames and will no doubt look great, on the games where that improvement is most required like Stalker 2 or black myth, if your rasterised frames are under 60fps, even though you may be seeing 120fps through DLSS, the latency and controls are going to be under 60fps, so it’s still going to feel very laggy and unresponsive.

So it’s marketing hype ie lies.

It depends on the game but yeah - true.

But, but, but...Reflex 2 & Frame Warp will solve everything and make you a gaming god.

I think reflex is a display technology or is it part of the gsync driver and already compatible with existing gsync displays?

And then the question is would it be compatible only with full gsync or gsync compatible displays? Increasingly so there are very few gsync displays on the market

Corsair doing the right thing with the favoured 4000d

This is so good to see, they’ve essentially reworked and optimised the entire chassis, now enabled support for up to 360 x 160 (that 160 isn’t a typo) radiators on the top, and even so slightly reduced the cost.

fingers crossed reviews hold up but I have no reason to doubt them

An already awesome case being made even more awesome. Look forward to seeing the bigger versions too.

I struggle to see past Corsair for performance/value. You can see the investment they have made and it must be rewarding as $99 for that case with that functionality is a bargain frankly.

Nice to see the ATX3.x finally coming out as well. Took them a long time to shift their old stock I guess :ROFLMAO:

With the review I notice he mentioned the embossed front and the increase in airflow. What I don't think he noticed is one of the reasons why is surface area. Having that embossed pattern increases the actual surface area space. This will allow more airflow instantly, while I'm guessing the shape of the pattern gives a uniform turbulence through into the case. Good turbulence makes a massive difference in exchange so it's a fantastic design if it is as good as I think it could be.

Just need for PCS to make clear what spec the PSUs are (well at least for RMe/RMx/HX/AX ranges to start) once they start offering 50-series GPUs or for when 2x12VHPWR connections are feasible.
