Before purchasing

Before i went to PCS I actually looked at making the computer myself to see if it could be done on the cheap, it cant. Surfing around i quickly realized that PCS are not just cheaper than the competition they are also cheaper than what i could make (try). So off to the pros it was.

Ordering experience

Which way to go with processor, what about GPU, case ?!?!?!? Toooooo many options for me i ended up changing my mind 100 times. This might sound stupid but before I bought this PC i knew very little about components etc, reading the forum every day for 3 weeks has made me a lot more literate when it comes to such things, amazing bunch of people on here. So after ordering i must of amended my order 11 times (seriously), I had gone for the ATI 6950 but it was out of stock so ended up with the 6970 instead (poor me i know).

The problem

I had originally picked the i7-2600k but just after my PC was built and in testing id seen on the forum that the i7-2700k was just released and way about £10 more. After a phone call to customer service, no longer a problem.

The PC

Build time 16 days

So i paid extra for Saturday delivery and Yodel delivered the HUGE package at around 10:30 and have to say ive never seen a case like this before so big and also so white!!! The case stands out where ever you put it. Ive been using the PC for around two weeks now and i couldn't be happier, playing games on eyefinity with the surround sound is simply the best gaming experience ive ever had.

So you might notice the extra fan cable tied, this was in fact a stolen idea from a fellow forum member (sorry cant remember who) also added one to the front. I was worried about cooling because i knew the side fan was left off, i shouldn't of worried TBH the case keeps everything icy.

The SSD i went for is good but not amazing, the boot times are quick so is the overall computer but it doesn't seem much better than my HDD and 80GB gets used up quick if you plan to put more than windows on. I would go for something a little bigger and quicker.

Thanks people if your still reading but wanted to help people out who might be thinking about a similar spec to mine. Enjoy the pics!

Great review & pics JGUK & also nice to see someone showing you dont need two gpu's in crossfire, or overclocking to do what you have achieved.
I also looked at the possibility of buiding my own pc to save money but couldn't beat PCS prices,
but you now also have the added bonus of knowing that if anything goes wrong PCS will sort it out,
as they have done for me in the past.
+ rep to you.

It is nice to have that peace of mind that if something goes wrong then I can just give them a call and I know they will sort it out. I did lots of research and I really wanted to have eyefinity, so glad I did. Plus you always have the option of adding another card at a later date. I think that's what buying a custom pc is all about....playing :). Thanks for the rep everyone..

HAHA yes that would be awesome but I already find it hard to find things without two more, also I think the mount would dies if I added more weight. Thanks for the comments everyone :).

P.S forgot to add this to the review. If you were wondering how these are connected, I have two MDP(Mini display port) to VGA adaptors off Amazon for £10 each and a DVI to VGA adapter that PCS sent. I did come unstuck on the 4th connection because I had a screen without a DVI connector like the others so needed to be connected via VGA. I found out when I got the PC and called PC Specialists this cant be done as the second DVI output on the Graphics card is "analogue" and had to be connected through DVI. Luckily I had a monitor that did have one laying around so was able to use that. Just thought I would let people know just in case.... Got there in the end :)
