Just a quick thank you to PCS

Ordered a pre built system =Vanquish spec MKIII in the early hours of Friday and it arrived Sat morning A.M. and that was without requesting Sat delivery so 10/10

Just a couple of points
Requested no anti virus and office software - put your hand up who didnt uninstall it and in my office monday morning ☺
Also scratching my head if i have to format my cpmputer in a couple of years time when my free return has expired and i have to replace my motherboard as i have no windows 10 reg code?
Luke is getting back to me monday about that

Anyway other than those two little points it was =
1.delivered super quick
2.packaged superbley with even a foam formed filler to protect the inside
3.quick answers to a couple of questions i had when setting it up and phone picked up both times by the 6/7th ring

Really impressed so far with PCS

MANY THANKS

There is no registration code for the versions of Windows 10 that are sold with machines now, you only get a code to enter if you buy it separately. The new system Microsoft implemented with Windows 8 and again with Widows 10 means that your copy of Windows is hard coded to your motherboard, so when you need to reinstall you can use any copy of Windows 10 and during the install it will recognise your motherboard and automatically activate Windows for you.

With the AV trials there are two types, one that comes built Windows 10 and one that PCS install for you, when you select not to have an AV it's just telling them not to install their trial, not to uninstall the one windows automatically installs (they can't do that as Windows installs it during the set up process you the customer goes through when you turn it on for the first time).

You might have to contact Microsoft and see if they can transfer it.

I've heard mixed reviews about this, some people have said that a quick call to them will sort it out for you and some have said that Microsoft's view is that replacing the motherboard is replacing the PC and licenses for 8, 8.1 and 10 don't transfer.

That is if you have to do a full reinstall at the time though, if you just swap out the motherboard then Windows "should" recognise it as an upgrade, If it doesn't you need to call Microsoft to get it unlocked.

Microsoft wont do anything unless you have an original key which according to LUKE today you cant get as they don't know it as they flash the bios automatically

So if your out of guarantee with your Motherboard and its goes south then be prepared to pay for another windows system

If we were given the key Microsoft I'm sure would allow you to replace Motherboard with a quick phone call

I had to do this about 4 years ago hence why I asked them about my key
