system performance error.jpg
Only had this system since mid September and have slowly been adding software etc.
So today I thought I would do the system performance.
As you can see I have the error could not measure system memory performance.
I have not phoned pcs yet as it is getting towards closing time so thought I would ask here if anyone can give me some advice and guidance.

Hi Oussebon

You will never believe this but I did a Google on my problem and like you came across this article I am scenario 1.
I see there is a download fix but it is quite an old one if I recall back 2011.
So not sure if it is still relevant.

Also my Processor (CPU)Intel i7 eight core 20mb cache

If you're still using Windows 7 and still getting the error message on a CPU with a greater than 16MB cache I assume it's still relevant.

Yes still using Windows 7 in the build I had done.
What I have done is applied for the hotfix as you have to request it.
I will now have to check my emails.
When I get it I will then before installing it phone pcs in the morning and check if ok to use it as I do not want to do anything to invalidate my warranty.

Though to be honest the Windows Experience Index is actually a pretty worthless scoring system, it scores it on the worst bit of your PC which is not always a relevant bit - there are plenty of other performance testing tools out there, personally I use 3D Mark, and I'm sure other forum users can suggest many others (I can't think of any at the moment but that's probably cos I'm waiting for dinner to finish cooking and am starving :))

Thanks Rakk and Oussebon for alternatives.

I received the link but after reading this (pasted below) that was part of the email I think I will not bother even downloading it as you will see it has not been fully tested.

I think that's very wise. As Rakk and Oussebon have said, the Windows Experience Index isn't that useful and it's certainly not important. Sometimes it's enough to know that a problem doesn't require fixing and you're so right to point out that it's quite possible for the 'fix' to be more dangerous than the original problem.
