Sudden Shocking change in internet speed and very high ping?

Hey guys I Haven't been on my pc in about a week and I have just booted it up about an hour ago. My ping is sky high about 200 ms when it is normally about 20-30 ms my download speed is about 1 when normally its about 15 and my upload speed is 0.52 when it is normally around 1. any help?? I have reset my router to no avail, installed windows updates nothing. its very strange for the past 3-4 years my speed has been the same and suddenly after a week away from the pc and cleaning it, it has become shockingly slow. any help?

I am using a cat 6 Ethernet cable, directed to the router.

i'd turn off the router for a good ten minutes and see if that helps.

It could just be as simple as there are problems on your line. If possible you might want to see if there are any reported issues for your ISP in your area.

But yeah as Tom_gr7 says your router may just need turning off for a bit

router is on 24/7 I will turn it off for a bit and give it ago as suggested thanks !

left the router off and just turned it back on and re tested it, its now saying I have 0 ms ping, 13 down, 1 up. I will see what its like tomorrow but if its as bad as before I will contact my isp.
