Ssd or no ssd?

Will more than likely be ordering a desktop from pcs, but I'm having a hard time choosing whether to get an ssd or just stick with an hdd.

I want to put the os, a few apps (ms student, iTunes, avast, and possibly 3 or 4 games). At the moment, I'm thinking 120gb Kingston Hyperx.

Any thoughts? Is an ssd going to give me noticeable improvements?

SSD gives a dramatic performance increase when it comes to load times etc. With the high prices of mechanical drives at the moment i would be even more tempted to say yes, an SSD is a good option.

if your going for a ssd though i would recommend a intel 510 as they are one of the most reliable on the market to date, a bit more pricey but well worth it.

Can only stretch to the 120gb kingston one. If it ain't worth it, I won't bother. Ill upgrade down the line so long as pcs can shift the os over to an ssd and have it as the 1st drive and the hdd as the 2nd

Moving the OS isnt much of a problem, I think you can just make a clone of your HDD and dump it onto your SSD but not 100% sure.

If you can afford an SSD right now, and the rest of your system is as good as you need it then go for it will be a nice boost, however if maybe some of the parts on your PC arnt as good as you need it then you could upgrade those now and get the SSD later when the prices come down.
