SSD or HDD

I'm currently building my first gaming laptop but cannot decide whether to go with a SSD or HDD. Which would be best performance wise or should I get a combination of a smaller SDD with a 500GB or 750GB HDD. Any advice would be appreciated thanks.

Depends on your budget. If you can afford an SSD and HDD then go for it, faster loading time for windows and other applications store there

Not necessarily, if you have to sacrifice other components then it's not worth it IMO
