I did it on my iPhone5 whilst connected to my home WiFi and got 35 as the download speed.
On my new PCS desktop PC im only getting 20.

What do you guys think about that?

I've heard that moving the antenna to a different position can help sometimes (though I have no experience of this since I don't use wireless)

Get some homeplugs for a more consistent and better connection. What's your router? And what 'up to' speed do you pay for?

Its not a top end killer wireless so i suspect that the values your getting is correct, it would be a hard thing to say what the exact difference is as there can be any number of environmental effects that can change the speed in locations.

i.e. Are they both running Speednet with the same server?, Do you have the antenna plugged into the back of the PC, Are there objects blocking the WIFI signal etc. Even the times you try it, i've seen my speed change within minutes of testing.

20mbs is still a good speed so personally i wouldn't be worrying about it.

Best thing to do is to plug the PC directly into the router with a cable, that way you'll get a true reflection of the speeds you are achieving.

The wireless speeds can be affected by many different variables and so are not a good indication of the speed your PC can achieve.

Don't pay too much attention, your speeds will be fine :)

I applaud the patience of some people on here, i really do...

-_^ ... The people that are active on this forum like helping. I am a first time custom pc purchaser i think its normal to be paranoid about so many things first time round.
