Specs for Sibelius notation/replay program

Any comments welcome.

For those who don't know, the Sibelius program has some vast sound sample libraries for replaying large orchestral scores - hence the large amount of RAM. The SSD is to enable rapid loading of these libraries when the program starts. (That's how I understand it.) I'm not sure about the processor - over-specced? (Pretty certain Sibelius can't use multiple cores.)

Am I to assume you will be listening to these scores all the way through loud? If so maybe a dedicated sound card would be more to your liking?
Will you be doing anything else with the machine? a GeForce 210 is very low end, if you plan on doing anything else maybe go for a low end 7 series card or mid range AMD card.

Lastly change the CPU cooler to at least the triple heat pipe cooler will help alot.

Other than that nice setup for what you need

Thanks for the comment.

I have a USB soundcard - the DacMagic 100, which I'm happy with. I should be able to use that.

I note what you say about the CPU cooler and the other stuff.

Thanks again.

The latest version of Sibelius uses all the cores of a processor. It would be a very antiquated DAW if it didn't.
I think a Sibelius forum would give you a good idea of processor performance with Sibelius.
I would prefer to have a small drive as your system drive and get another SSD for data. The system drive is the one that is most likely to experience an issue where you have to wipe the drive. You don't want to have to re-load hundreds of gigs of data from an HDD or worse still DVD's.
